I can't believe he can go much longer without sitting a couple of days. He is a much better hitter then he is showing but he isn't alone in his struggle. Vernon Wells, Eric Chavez are a couple of others who share his pain. If he goes another couple of weeks like this he will have to hit close to .350 the rest of the way to meet his lifetime average.
He is a very streaky player, May should be a much better month for him. Last year he started off slow too, in April he batted .225, 5 HR, 10 RBI. Then in May he batted .346, 9 HR, 19 RBI. He has hurt my batting average quite a bit, and will be on my bench until he shows that he has turned it around.
His 3 for 51 of whatever stetch he's on is frustrating and quite damaging.
I think he'll turn it around , but am wonder if passing on the flavor of the weeks while holding onto this 40 year old is wise.
What's everyone doing with him?
I have him benched. For years Steve Finley has been ole reliable, consistently putting up good stats. He'll snap out of it eventually and when he does, you'll be in for some good numbers. The Anaheim, erm, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, have a good lineup, so he's definately worth a bench spot. Frustrating? Yes, but worth the wait.
