I am getting my butt whooped. Lost the first and second week by a slim margin, but these last two weeks I lost by a ton. Weird scoring system (Hitter: 1 pt per TB, 1 pt per RBI, R, SB, K=-1, Pitcher: W = 10, L = -5, K = 1, BB = -1, H= -.5, IP = .5, ER =-1). I have been scoring about 150 points a week, while winning teams have been around 200. 12 team league.
Here is my roster:
Rodriguez, Ivan C (seems to be a singles hitter)
Delgado, Carlos 1B (no power this year)
Vidro, Jose 2B
Beltre, Adrian 3B (aargh!)
Renteria, Edgar SS (slumping forever)
Everett, Carl RF (fill in for A. Jones)
Finley, Steve CF
Green, Shawn RF
Hafner, Travis DH
Escobar, Kelvim SP
Johnson, Randy SP
Millwood, Kevin SP (no run support)
Penny, Brad SP
Weaver, Jeff SP
Looper, Braden RP
Wagner, Billy RP
Jones, Andruw CF
Wood, Kerry SP
Bagwell, Jeff 1B
Gagne, Eric RP - DL
Berkman, Lance LF - DL
Schilling, Curt SP - DL
Bonds, Barry LF SF - DL
I have some good players on the DL, but have some major issues with my roster. The scoring system heavily favors HR hitters and SP pitchers are inconsistent. Schill and RJ are killing me.
Should I ride this out? 8 of 12 teams make the playoffs. 24 weeks before the playoff starts. I figure I need to go 14-10 to be guarnateed of a playoff spot, maybe just 12-12. Now I am 0-4.
Thanks for any help or advice.
