I heard he had a new pitch he was using this year, a 'slurve' - any A's fans with a view on how it is working out?

I've read that he has started throwing a slider. It's a pitch he used to throw in college, but hadn't been using it in the Majors until this year. It gives him one more off-speed pitch, and he's said that it comes off his hand looking like his fastball. Or something like that.
