Is Taverez the leadoff guy now?

He's been batting leadoff the last 3 games. Is this permenant?

He has 2 SB's in the last 3 games.

I certainly hope so. He is no worse than Adam Everett, and though he won't hit much higher than .270 he and is not an ideal leadoff guy, he will steal a ton of bases and I think he is a better option than Everett.

Whether this is permanent or not, I'm not sure though I'd assume it's not considering that when Berkman comes back his job isn't even secure.

Hard to tell... I'm not really sure. The other day I saw an Astros commercial and it blatantly advertised Taveras as one of the team's most exciting players. I think it called him "The Roadrunner" or something like that...

Anyway, I can't imagine they would do that if they're just going to bench him or send him down in a week or so.

I think he is. He led off today with Everett in the lineup (Everett batted 7th).

Not sure if it's permanent. I seem to doubt it is as that would be way to smart a move to make and the Astros management seems to have been more concerned with giving the favored players the decision making on lineups the last few years. But I sure hope it is.

And I can't emphasize this enough, when Berkman returns, Taveras is still the starting CF. Luke Scott will be sent packing. Lamb's hot couple days is possible bad news for Ensberg, not Taveras. And Palmeiro is just a PH.

Obviously if Taveras has an extended bad hitting streak, he may get the bench for a while. Otherwise, he's THE CF.

He will be the leadoff hitter, it was just a matter of time until he got the job.

Everett is slower than Willy.
Everett won't hit for a higher average than Willy
Everett doesn't walk a ton to make it a difference over Willy.
Everett has hit his ceiling...Willy is only touching his potential.

Willy has the job and unless he hits a prolonged slump he will keep the job.

Wily should be the guy and Scott should be in AAA, and Evertt should be #7 or #8.

When he's hitting 230 in a couple weeks i'm sure they'll move him down in the lineup again.

I just said doubt it, why's it piss you off so much, geez. Someone asked a question and that's my answer, i doubt he'll maintain the leadoff spot.
