1 HR in April - Don't Panic

Postby jayman » Sun May 01, 2005 11:26 am

Haha, easier said than done.

Saw an interesting graphic on ESPN. Sluggers with less than 1 HR in April last season that went on to hit 30+. Four were listed, only remember three:

I put my $$$ on Todd Helton to get to 30 this year. He only has 1 currently.

I would put my money on Thome to do it this year

Helton, Hafner, Abreu are also good bets

Griffey Jr - If he stays healthy - and thats a big if - has a shot

and maybe Alou as well
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

Stewie : [watching a baseball game] Why does that man drop his club before he runs? I would bring it with me!

That is a big if. :-D

Anyway, I hope Matsui is good for more than 30 homers. At this point even 25 is looking pretty nice.
