I'll ride Turnbow wave for as long as it lasts! My strategy is to vulture saves off the FA wire, so Turnbow and Lyon (and Hermanson) were key pick-ups for me. My only high-priced closer (Mota) hasn't done jack for me and is now on the DL. Ouch.

I've seen Turnbow pitch three times so far. When he first walked to the mound, I was like "you gotta be kidding me." He's about as intimidating as Howdy Doody. Doesn't look like an athlete at all. But WOW can he throw. Throws 97-98 consistently and has shown a nasty curve that (at least so far) has made hitters look foolish.

His problem has always been control. Apparently, he has made some mechanical adjustments and it may have worked. Besides, when you've got his sort of stuff, you don't need to have the greatest control. He only needs to get 3 outs a night. I like his odds to get those 3 outs at least most of the time.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

That's somthing you can say for many pitchers who can gun in the upper 90s but have no control. It's more common than you'd expect. Personally, I picked up Turnbow in quite a few leagues and have been very impressed with the results so far (even though I conservatively did not start him yet in most of my leagues...missed out on a W which I need badly and two SVs), but you can't expect his command issues to be solved this thoroughly this soon. I'd expect a rocky implosion here or there. He's certainly not as good as y'all are making him out to be, but it appears like Turnbow's taking good steps in improving his abilities.

Just something to keep an eye on... I don't think he's thrown a first pitch strike all year. That's not good.

But you can't argue with results.

As a Mike Adams owner, I hope he fails miserably, or his arm falls off :)

In seriousness, I dont understand why Adams lost the job in the first place. One blown save and he was out! Kinda strange.

I was thinking the same way, obviously Adams' job was not nearly as secure as I believed. Regardless, I have made well off of the free agent pool this year with saves. Turnbow, Brazoban, and Lyon have been money for me so far. ;-D
