This guy has really been helping me out so far....and for the following reasons, I think that he is going to keep it up:

(1) He plays for the Orioles...so the days that he gives up 5, he could still get a win.
(2) I read earlier this year that the Orioles said "he learned how to pitch."
(3) He has pitched in 4 games this year and his ERA is 3.62
(4) He pitched against Boston (2 times) and NYY (2 times).

Lets see what happens tomorrow against TB.

I've been looking at him since he's pitching well so far.

His career numbers aren't all that good and he's had some terrible years. The interesting thing is that those terrible years were when he's mostly coming out of the pen, and doesn't get a lot of starts. His numbers as a regular starter are much better.

Of course that may mean that he totally stunk out those years, so he got yanked from the rotation quick.

He's been looking good so far. I have my eye on him. Personally though, I don't really see him keeping it up. I think he's too much of a soft tosser to have much long-term success in the AL East. Without a real heater (his fastball tops out at like 88 mph I think), AL hitters will probably figure him out and then klablooey. He also plays in a pretty tough pitchers park where a lot of long fly balls turn into homers.

While normally I would say that pitching well against the Yanks is a good sign, the Yanks have been pretty awful so far and could have made a AAA player look like Cy Young.

I think he'll have a nice ride, and maybe for longer than I think, but in the end I just don't think he has the stuff to make it in the slugger-heavy AL East.

I was impressed enough with the showing against the Yanks that I picked him up for his two start week against the Red Sox. Start #1 wasn't so good, but #2 was fine. I'm also concerned that he doesn't have the power to survive the AL East more than once or twice through the division, but I'm going to ride him through everyone once.

i had the former brave and i used him and josh towers after dropping oliver perez and horacio ramirez. like i posted earlier the move helped me to become 3-1 and a division leader in my league.

but i dropped chen for patterson....and towers for brandon webb (got in a trade). now i picked up wade miller for boomer's DL slot. i hope that he keeps it up.
