This guy is absolutely dominating High A. In reading scouting reports from BA and other publications this year entering last year's draft, I though that this guy was supposed to have no control. He's had amazing command thus far. Is it possible that he's completely got his control ironed out and is ready to move quickly?
His control has been a big question mark, but whatever the Tigers did with him seems to be working wonderfully. I don't think the Tigers will rush him, but if he keeps this up for another month or so ... he should probably be promoted to AA.
Funny you bring him up cause I was just thinking of going to see him pitch sometime soon, just to see the new Verlander for myself. Looks like he will pitch again at home (Lakeland) on May 3rd.
I saw some footage of him when he was pitching during Spring Training and you could just see he was on his way to having a monster season. From what I've heard, he will be in AA very soon (like another 3 or 4 starts) if he keeps it up, hybrid, so you might want to hurry up and get out there to see him. Then once he hits AA, I think the plan is to leave him there for the remainder of the season.
Now we just need Kyle Sleeth to get healthy and back on track...
