Matsui has improved his performance each year in April so far in his career and improved greatly upon his 2002 May in 2003. Is there any reason that he won't continue to improve in his production month to month?
This season I expect Matsui to come close to Sheffield's numbers, especially if he bats 4th between Shef and A-Rod for most of the year.

I hope you're right, although his current slump concerns me a bit. I drafted him in one league, traded for him in 2 others, expecting a monster year ...

I think he'll put up better numbers than Sheffield this year.

I'd take Gary over Hideki any day. Better numbers in every category. This coming from a Yankee fan.
Bold Predictions:
Grady Sizemore will have more value than Jason Bay regardless of draft position
Aramis Ramirez in 155 G will hit over .300 40 HR 110 RBIs
Brian McCann will have more value than Jorge Posada regardless of draft position

Obviously, but Sheffield went in the 2nd round, and Hideki went in like the 7th...the number will be comparable by years end.

His slump is concerning me too.. I mean, he's done NOTHING in the past week and a half.

I wouldn't worry yet. He's always been a fairly streaky hitter. I just hope he gets hot again soon.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
