A lot of people had him pegged as a pretty good sleeper before the season and he just came off the disabled list 3 days ago. Could he be valuable as a guy only to start in Coors field? What kind of stats do you think he'll put up?

I've made two different posts about Atkins here at the Cafe and have gotten zero response. I, too, am curious about him. I have Lowell in one league and have considered using Atkins until Lowell heats up, but I don't know enough about him either. Maybe you'll get some feedback.

lowell better heat up soon. he is a first half player
as for atkins -- i am a little skeptical of the whole situation in colorado. they have a ton of talented hitters and not very many lineup spots to put them in. I don't know very much about what is going on over there, but it would not surprise me if none of the young hitters got a full share of ABs.
atkins is probably another one of those coors platoon players.

One thing to think about is that it is Coors, and that Atkins has a big frame (6'3"), so might he find a power stroke in the thin air?

i doubt it..last year at aaa colorado springs he only hit 15 HRs..cbarmes had 16 and erick almonte had 17!! so he has been in thin air
