Anyone else plagued by early slumps?

Postby Yoda » Thu Apr 28, 2005 9:04 pm

Man my offense is getting killed

C-VMart
1B-Konerko
2B-Giles
3B-Beltre
SS-Barmes
CI-Atkins
MI-Roberts
OF-MCab
OF-Wells
OF-CLee
OF-LGon
OF-Clark
U-Reyes
B-Mauer
DL-Berkman

If it wasn't for Roberts and Barmes, I'd be in last place in every cat. Oh and Konerko's HRs. I feel like dumping everyone. Anyone you think I should dump soon?

Yes. I have Eric Chavez, Todd Helton, and Jim Edmonds. But I'm very confident that those guys will bust out eventually. ;-D

Most of my teams are mired at the bottom by slumps from or injuries to prominent hitters.

For example:
NL-only 5x5 12-team Roto

1B Julio Franco
2B Freddy Sanchez
3B Chipper Jones
SS Jimmy Rollins
MI Adam Everett
CI Scott Rolen
C Johnny Estrada
C Yorvit Torrealba
OF Carlos Lee
OF J.D. Drew
OF Moises Alou
OF Matt Lawton
OF Matt Holliday
UT Orlando Palmeiro
DL Todd Walker

Naturally, I'm near the bottom in R, HR, and RBI, but I'm pretty confident that it can turn it around. Several of my hitters are still ice cold.

I'm currently third in my 12-team league but my BA is dead last. How? I've got Carlos Lee, Brian Giles, and Adrian Beltre. They've dropped a bomb on my batting average. Seriously, will these guys ever get a hit again?? I'm so tired of seeing 0-3, 0-4, and even 0-5 next to their names. Somehow or another, however, their HR, RBI, and run totals are pretty good. Otherwise I would have jumped out a window this week.

Yesterday, my combined BA was .070. You can train a monkey to swing a bat and he'd hit better than that. I believe that might set a record for worst BA in a day in fantasy history.

Moreso being plagued by friggin rain delays, but having Chavez and Vernon "Good For Nothing At All" Wells doesn't help my cause.

My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

I'm in H2H and I had a day last week where my team combined for 2 hits. 9 Players and 2 hits. I thought Yahoo broke or something.

Hey, I got that team, too! (Got 4 hits the day after the 2 hits). Seriously, in the first three weeks of H2H my BA was .206, .223, .246 (a real breakout). Fortunately, some stellar pitching is keeping me in the thick of things while I wait for the bats to awaken.

In the DashForCash league, I have Hidalgo, Chavez, B Boone, Posada, Vidro, KMatsui, AJones, and Mike Mussina.

Amazingly, I'm in first place by 4 points. So when these guys start coming back to life, it bodes well for me.
