Anyone have Hafner/Vic Martinez?

Victor Martinez will heat up. He's too good not to.

Hafner will come around as well, though as mentioned in prior posts regarding his slow start (there's a new one every day) he was probably a bit overrated off last season.

I'm staying afloat somehow with Gagne as my second round pick and Vmart as my third, though.

Ouch. V-Mart in the 3rd? :-o

I got him in the 5th round..........in two leagues. He's killing me so far :~( .

I think vmart probably still has very solid trade value..problem would be finding a replacement for him at C..i'm assuming there's nothing out there

I got him in the 6th, and I don't have a replacement catcher. I'm thinking about benching Victor and just forfeiting my C stats until he proves he can hit a baseball. With Dunn on my team, I can't afford these 1/19 weeks he's been so good at churning out.

Yeah it was a reach I regret. It was my first draft of the year and I was keyed in on Vmart, so I didn't really know where he was going and I was pretty sure he wouldn't make it back.

Victor hit .246 last April, then heated up, going .315, .333. .304 in May, June and July, before slumping again in August and September.

You can't drop him, just have to wait it out.

I think the same goes for Hafner. It's only ~75 at-bats so far.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

I too have both, in my dynasty league. I've been pretty much sitting Hafner vs. LHP. And now that Bay is warming up he may get straight bench duty as I plug Dunn back into 1B. As far as V-Mart, I'm "lucky enough" to have Mauer, but he's not exactly blazing it up either. Oh well, it's only April. I certainly wouldn't dump either.

i picked mauer in the 12 and traded him straight up for vmart before the season. even though mauer isn't tearing it up either, its starting to look like the other owner knew what he was doing... :-o

Food for thought. VMart stats so far:

15/75, 6 R, 2 HR, 8 RBI, .200 AVG in 19 G

... if he gets pretty hot and goes 15/38 (.394) in the next 10 games with 3 HR and 10 RBI, his stats would be:

.265, 5 HR, 18 RBI, putting him on pace for 28 HR, 100 RBI... It's too early to be hitting the panic button.
