Tampering - ugh, is this a legit complaint

Ya nothing wrong with it. But in our league, it is looked down upon to discuss a trade w another owner while it is still in proposal. But our league is a bunch of vultures who just go to the offering team and try to undercut the other guy, so most owners keep it private now.

Wow, I'm sure that sort of "tampering" happens in 99.99 percent of leagues in 99.99 percent of trades. I usually ask at least one other player in the league what he thinks of a trade before I do it. I've been asked dozens of times what I thought of trades that were proposed between other owners. Hell, we've had "winter meetings" and email exchanges in which proposed trades were openly discussed, criticized, and re-negotiated. I don't think there's anything wrong with it at all.

I don't see it as tampering. Usually an owner shops with several teams before deciding to do a trade. Say for example team A is offering Chavez/Peavy for Rolen/Ollie Perez from team B. Team B turns around and shops Rolen, or Ollie, or both to see what they can get in return and I'm sure they mention the current offer on the table. Of course it ends up being discussed at that point. Not a big deal for teams to discuss trades that are offered. Happens all the time.

I don't think there is anything wrong going on here. If they were making lopsided trades all the time, sure ... something needs to be done. But I have been and am in some leagues with friends, I will ask advice from time to time on more difficult trades to judge. Sometimes it's just good to have another unbiased opinion, that knows the league your in as well as you do.

I'd be very careful with that notion if I were you. Your leaguemates are by definition the most biased individuals you can ask. They have a vested interest in what you do.

Well I also said in my post that they were friends, they aren't going to try and go behind my back in a fantasy league. Trust me if someone was trying to give me bad advice, especially with people I know, I would notice.

I wouldn't ask any ol' person I don't know, I only ask people I trust.

I can't see anything wrong here either. If one player says to the other "I was proposed this trade" and the other "I don't think it's good for you because ...." what's the problem.
