How do these guys rank overall?

L. Hernandez WA

J. Thomson ATL

B. Webb AZ

K. Escobar

Probably far from the consensus, but I would rank them like this:

Hernandez
Webb
Escobar

Thomson

The first three are really close IMO, so they could probably go in any order.

This is a damn close call but if I really had to choose i'd go

Escobar is Matt Clement's long lost brother; great stuff but a knack for getting hammered from time to time. He'll get his wins playing for Disne... i mean Anah... i mean L.A though.

Livan is an iron horse with good numbers. The only poblem is that they're only going to be good. You know his era will be around 3.50 and hes going to win/lose over 10 games.

Webb has the most potential to dominate consistently. Despite his rough year last year where a combination of him walking alot of guys and AZ's general lack of run support left him with a pretty bad record, he's always kept his ERA and BAA low which I think says alot about his underlying ability.

hmm, i'm not a big fan of webb, but i'd prefer him to escobar because he pitches in the DH-less league. so i'd go

Even though I feel Escobar is overrated by some, he's the best 5x5 guy in this group. Those K numbers have to get him a bit more value.

I would rate Thomson second. He really came on last season and looks like one of those guys who has benefitted tremendously from Mazzone. I'm a little concerned about his walk rate this season, but he's found a way to strand most of them, and should be fine.

Webb is a decent commodity, and is a very solid back of the fantasy rotation type.

I will take the stance against Livan Hernandez. A lot of mileage on that arm, and he's thrown a ton of pitches the last two years. What's troubling to me is that his peripheral numbers are very poor thus far this season, and this is in indication of bad things possibly on the horizon.
