If you can get Sheffield for him, do it!

But seriously, this guy could be a solid major leaguer...he hit well in the minors from what I have read. He is hitting .300 on the road this year in 30 AB (vs. .500 at home in 46 aB)...although all 4 homers have come at home and all but 2 of his 14 rbis have come at home...

Helton had some great things to say about him... ;-)

Barmes is definitely a solid player and could be a decent everyday player in the future. But ya I would rather have sheff right now obviously, Coors also might have something to do with it but I think he is hitting pretty good away from Coors. Does anyone know his home/away splits?

barmes is your 2005 nl rookie of the year...but he's hitting four hundred so you're going to have to stomach a substantial cold streak or a long stretch of poor play at some point because there's obviously no chance he hits that. lets hope he hits over .300 on the year

And there's a reason Gil is your avatar?

(full disclosure: Barmes is on my roster)

I'll just say this--I'm glad that I had Barmes ready to step in when Nomar stepped out of that batter's box!

"Aw, thank God! Now, let's talk rust-proofing. These Colecos'll rust up on ya' like that, er ... shut up, Gil. Close the deal ... close the deal!"

I traded him for Drew, for what its worth. Normally I'd keep him, but I couldn't turn that offer down.
