I'd actually be crying if I were a Yankee fan. 200 million dollar payroll and you haven't won the world series in 5 years. Absolutely pathetic. Up 3-0 on the RED SOX in the ALCS and you blow it! Face it the Mets are a team on the rise with the young nucleus of Beltran Wright Reyes Diaz along with Humber and Petit in the minors for the pitching staff. The Yankees on the other hand are on the decline. They consist of old bums with a ridiculous payroll who still cant win, with the fan base of a bunch of front runners. Pathetic.
86 Mets. Dykstra, Straw, Doc, Mitchell, Backman, Knight, Keith, Carter, Mookie... most hardcore group ever assembled.

You can change a few names and other things around in this argument and come up with exactly the same things Met fans have been saying about taking over the Yankees in this town since the Mets first started in the 1960s. You can see in their words how incredibly mad and frustrated they all are that NYC will always be a Yankee town and they are destined to be second class citizens for life. For example, I remember when Bobby Bonilla and David Cone were going bring the Mets to a new standard in the early 90s, now it's Beltran and Pedro, classic stuff! Can't wait for the summer Mets meltdown.

Lol, a little bitter, eh?
The Mets are always supposed to be the team on the rise. However, they also always wind up finishing in the basement. I don't hate the Mets, just stating the obvious.
