Aardsma
Just checked out his stats from last year...even in the Minors he walked over a batter per 2 innings. Not good, but I agree he's probably better than Herges.
I'm not going to jump on this bandwagon...one per night for me...and my bandwagon left about an hour ago with Tavarez.
It was his right hamstring. They're calling it a "strain." He'll have tests on it tommorow.
If he's out for an extended ammount of time, then I'd bet you'll see Brower inserted into the closers role. He and Eyre have been the only decent arms in this pen, but Eyre is LH. Herges has been bad recently.
I'd also bet that they'd call up one of Foppert, Aardsma, or Valdez. Aardsma was recently moved into the starting rotation in order to work on his off speed pitches, and he's been dominating. I don't think he's even allowed a run. He had a perfect game going into the 6th inning in his last start. However, I do not believe that Aardsma, Valdez, or Foppert would be ready for something like that, which is why I surmise Brower would get the first look as a replacement.

Where did you hear that? I watch all the giants games and they didn't know what it was, except that it was his hammy.
