do the rays really see it that way? really? even in the short term?

if i weren't so bothered by this, i would be speechless. but i'm bothered, and so i rant.

what are they waiting to see? they have no chance of playoffs this year, so why not put the kids on the field? is there a rays fan or a lou piniella representative who can break this down for me? this can't be a $ issue, can it? can it?

looking for answers. strictly a peace of mind issue.

It is a money issue. The sooner they promote the youngsters the sooner they'll be eligible for arbitration, free agency and big contracts. The D-Rays, therefore, want the best years possible from their youngsters, so they make sure they have plenty of minor league seasoning make that happen.

I can understand the frustration with not having Gathright up, cause I deal with it almost every game. But let Delmon gain more experience in the minors, he hasn't even played 20 games yet above Low A.
