Who have you plucked off the waiver wire that has been a big help to you? Who are the players that are silently helping your team that no one is thinking off?
For myself, the answer is Mike Hampton & Juan Rincon. My league does not count holds, so middle relievers are not thought of much. However, Rincon has vultured 2 wins (despite yesterday's blowup) and has helped my WHIP & ERA.
For those that are not paying attention to the #'s, Hampton has been absolutely stellar. I know that there are those who will not give him the time of day (LBJ). However, if youcan take the hit in K's, Hampton WILL help your team. He has not been walking many, and has really been a machine since last July. Great for ERA & WHIP. And once the Braves start to hit a tad, he'll have some wins as well.

Clint Barmes has been a godsend in one of my leagues (Utley the Platoon Man was the starter), and Steve Finley will be the same soon. Willy Mo Pena is now starting for me over Andruw and Rowand in another league. Brady Clark and John Patterson pickups have me way out in front in my roto league. And in my H2H points league, my relievers were Aquino, Valverde, Takatsu and Ayala. I was able to snatch Lyon before anyone else did, and that's paying off big so far, as will be my addition of JoBo once he comes off the DL.

Yeah, Lyon and Brazoban pickups are helping big because I hardly ever draft closers. Last year I grabbed Figgins and Ollie Perez in late April and rode them to a big glory.

Others:
John Patterson
Willy Taveras (believe it)
Brad Hawpe
David Dellucci

I've got Borowski stashed in three leagues. Celebrate the failures of Fox and Hawkins.

I'm in a deep (19-team) league that used an autodraft, some of my WW acquisitions so far have turned my team from an also-ran into a so-so contender:

Brady Clark
Gustavo Chacin
John Patterson
Chad Qualls
Cliff Politte

I also nabbed Affeldt off waivers, but he has spent all his time on the DL. :-/ Could still do something. Also picked up Ordonez when he was dropped, on pure speculation, hopefully he will do something.

How has he been? Are you a believer in him over the course of an entire year?

well, i drafted them late in a deep league, so that's almost like picking them up off the WW in 12 team mixed:

luis matos
cliff floyd

come to think of it, i really haven't picked up anyone off of waivers (well, except lyon. duh.) maybe i should consider get some more WW action going. :-D
