I heard he was hurting last year, so for now I'd give him the benefit of the doubt if you need someone with his stats.
His career minor league BA is .272. I would expect a BA around .260 by the end of the year. The SB are nice to see though.
Being an O's fan I have seen quite a bit of Matos. His biggest problem is that he has NO IDEA of the strike zone. By the end of the year he will hit no better than .270. He has been around long enought to figure it out but he has not so far and in my opinion he never will

Ummm...his walk/strikeout ratio is actually pretty damn good.

I am leaning toward picking him up, I really like the stolen bases and two years ago he was a solid fantasy play and that team can put up some serious runs.
Currently my OF is killing me I have Giles, Andrew Jones both are struggling, Sheff (who stays obvioulsy) and Juan Encarnacion. I am thinking of dropping Encarnacion for Matos. Solid move?
considering matos was hurt last year and that he appears to be walking a fair bit these days, i find it much more likely that he'll hit .300 this year than .250.

I like Matos over Encarnocion, Encarnocion's stats are just inflated and look better than they really are because most of them just came from his grand slams. Matos is a decent option hell get you some stolen bases and he can contribute in everything else a little bit too. No one really even mentioned his name as a sleeper this offseason but he has a shot at breaking out
Screw the Peavy and Burnett Watches, I'm probably one of the laziest people in the world

Matos or Rowand.... h2h 5x5 12 man... what do you guys think? I have Matos right now, I actually dropped Rowand for him... Im thinking that was not smart and hoping Rowand clears waivers.
