Eric Chavez: What a Slump!!

Postby TheMeXiKaN » Mon Apr 25, 2005 11:42 pm

I took this guy in round 3 figuring him to be among the top tier third-basemen. The guy is hitting below .150 right now, anyone else care to comment on this guy's dreadful slump?

That whole lineup is blowing right now. I have faith that Chavez will come around.

He was always a slow starter, but right now I think it is approaching the point where you have to consider benching him in weekly leagues. I usually do not recommended benching studs early due to a 2 week slump, as you are likely to miss the breakout and things even out in the end. But Chavez is dreadful right now and looks ike he is getting worse.

I think your right. I've got D. Wright as a backup. He also started slow but seems like hes getting in gear. These early slumps are killing me! Chavez, Teixeira, V Mart :-°

Chavez has a career April BA of 248 -- by far his worse month. Hang in there!

Even when he wakes up, who's he going to drive in? Who's going to drive him in?

I've avoided him the last couple of years simply because there's no lineup around him. :-°

He did fine last year with no offense either. This year's A;s offense makes last year's look good though.

At the poker table:

"I'll see your Eric Chavez (.178) and raise you one Richard Hidalgo (.179)."
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
