I'll disagree, and vehemently. Diaz is very raw, but the kid can rake despite being clueless at this point as to strike zone judgement. He's got some speed and plenty of power and he's just 23. Definitely projects as a guy who can hit .270 now. And if ever figures it out mentally, you can adjust upward maybe 15-20 points. His biggest worry might be conditioning. He need to get into better shape, but this kid has skills.
As for Gonzalez, he's got the stuff, but the Mets also have a lefty setup prospect of note who is just down the road at AAA. That's Royce Ring, who figures to make it to the big club sometime this year. So I can't see where this deal would make much sense for them.
