Rotoworld:
Giants optioned RHP Jerome Williams to Triple-A Fresno.
Well, at least he won't be skipped in the rotation now. Williams is expected to remain the Giants' fifth starter. This will allow him to get a start in the minors while the team keeps its other four starters in rotation.
Yah...methinks Jerome is WW fodder anyway at this point.

I'm sure the Giants want to see what some of their young studs can do while keeping Wiliams fresh and a chance to tune him up.

If Williams pitches terrible in his AAA appearance who do you think the Giants will use as their 5th starter?

My first guess would be Hennessey who has pitched very well in AAA, Foppert is more of a long shot since his control hasn't been where it should be. Also I would think they want Cain to have more experience in the high minors, so I wouldn't expect him for consideration till late in the year.

Dont panic too much over this, remember he missed all of spring training over a funeral and something else, Im guessing theyre just getting his reps in so he can get back in shape and back to form

Whoa, lets not overract here folks.
Williams was sent down because the Giants don't need a 5th starter for a while. When they do, he's going to be back up.
He missed a lot of time in ST, and he's missing his spots. They sent him down to work a game or two in the minors to help get himself back to form.
They aren't going to call up another starter. Levine was brought up because the pen has been taxed.
Let's also keep in mind that Williams' father is basically dying.
The Giants won't need a 5th starter till May 9th. That's when you'll see Williams return.

Have to admit... Once I saw this, I ran to The Cafe to see about Foppert!
