Help with my team!!!!

Postby Trot Nixon » Sun Apr 24, 2005 5:16 pm

New question below!!!!!

I'm in a 14 team 5x5 keeper league, I've missed out on closers available on the FA market (Lyon, Fox) so I'm kinda getting antsy in getting one. My hitters and pitchers are sucking so I'm looking for a change...what would be a good deal for my team to get Benitez, Kolb or Lyon (the person who has Benitez and Kolb likes Reed)

Here's my team....
Hernandez, Ramon C
Sexson, Richie
Loretta, Mark
Huff, Aubrey
Guillen, Carlos
Guillen, Jose
Patterson, Corey
Reed, Jeremy
Bartlett, Jason
Ford, Lew

Calero, Kiko
Gonzalez, Mike
Greinke, Zack
Halladay, Roy
Schmidt, Jason
Sheets, Ben
Wagner, Ryan

Burke, Chris
Klesko, Ryan
Sizemore, Grady
Gathright, Joey
Gonzalez, Adrian (getting rid of him tomorrow for Kotsay or Diaz)
Bautista, Denny
Byrd, Paul
MacDougal, Mike M.
Ordonez, Magglio

Try Reed and Maggs for Benitez

Maggs won't do that great this year IMO and it wouldnt hurt your team anyway with getting rid of him

Make sure to rate my team, its a few threads below yours

i like the maggs offer. ur hitting looks solid. sexson and huff will come around soon enough. you have 4 very solid SPs. ur right about RPs being what you need. If you cant get benitez, you may be able to "buy low" mota. Mota hasn't had many Opps. yet. He'll finish with around 35 saves though IMO.

I would get rid of MacDougal (lost his closer job) and Burke (doesn't play that much).

As for closers, try for the cheap closers. Kolb, Looper, Cordero, Hoffman, Lyon, etc.

If Encarnacion or Victor Diaz are available, try grabbing them. I think they would help.

Oh yeah, get rid of Gathright. He's in the minors. If you need SB, get that guy from Detroit, Nook Logan I think his name is.

I say go with Reed and Sexson for Benitez and a bit lower 1B. I think your OF is where you need the most help. IF is solid as is, but that OF is a bit worrisome after patterson/guillen. Still a good team for a 14 teamer, your team will turn it around, just a few slow starters right now.
