Ford or Mench...

Picked up Ford a few days ago and dropped Mench a week ago. I want to stick with Ford because he supposedly steals bases, but he only has one attempt so far and that was on Friday.

This sucks.

Mench by far, even if he sits out once or twice a week. If you need SBs Ford might be your guy but I only see him getting like 10, so I think you would be better off looking elsewhere anyay. Mench has 35 HR potential and he was a career .302 hitter in the minors; whereas, Ford was a career .290 hitter in the minors. Both players have the potential to hit around .290-.300 but Mench plays ina better lineup and in a better park. I would take him.

They are real close IMO.
If you need 15 HR more than you need 10 SB I would go with Mench.

I'd go with Mench. He starting to turn it around now after a slow start. He's in a potent lineup in a great hitter's park. I'm hoping if he keeps hitting they will eventually move him up in the lineup, especially with Hidalgo stinking it up.
Finally The Rock has come back....to New York City!!

Can anyone tell me if there is a definite pattern of when Mench plays and does not play? I just picked him up and am wondering when he'll be sitting.

My understanding is that he should be full-time now.

Dellucci - full-time DH
Nix - starts in OF against righties
Matthews - starts for Nix against lefties, maybe steals a game from Mnch against righties every now and again.
Hidalgo - every day
Mench - every day

My read is that now that Gonzalez is in AAA and out of the DH picture, Mench is a full-timer for all intents in purposes.
