I've read in a few places that people had high expectations going into this year. Heck, I've had him the past 2 or 3 seasons until this year where I don't have him at all. He's not a fluke, he has the stuff to be really good. Not THIS good probably, but he's still a good pitcher.

Is Patterson ever going to make progress? He shows you things that make you wonder. In 2004, it was a strikeout an inning, a walk every other inning, about half again as many home runs as you'd like, and then he missed time with a groin injury. Still, he's cheap, armed with good stuff, and might be a few adjustments away from becoming this rotation's #2 guy. PECOTA likes his profile, and we like his curveball; when that thing's really breaking, it's almost hypnotic. Breakout candidate.
PECOTA has him pegged at 15% breakout, 43% improve and 29% collapse.
Seems like they like him a lot.

I'm in a delima in one of my leagues. Since you're pretty high on Blanton, who would you rather have? Patterson's still on the wire, but I'm not sure how much longer.
Well... Blanton won't get the K's or W's that Patterson will. I'd go with Patterson probably. Blanton will probably be left on the wire, especially if he has a bad start or two. People aren't very patient with guys like him.

That was my thought process as well. Blanton's nice ratios have helped me get by with some not so good ratio guys for W's and K's though.
