I don't consider a guy a bust unless he was drafted in the top 10 rounds or earlier which im pretty sure Rowand didn't get picked. But, I see a solid year out of him probably a slight improvement over last year but not much. I would probably still hold on to him, Jason Bay turned it around today maybe Rowand will do so soon aswell.
If I'm not mistaken he hit at the top of the order last year. He seems to be hitting 6th (or 7th?) this year. Maybe he is having a tough time adjusting, and not seeing as many fastballs hitting in front of the 3 and 4 hitters. He'd have a much better chance at turning it around hitting #2.
I think he should project 4-5 HR per month 10-15 RBI per month .300 BA. He did about the same thing in 2003 really hot stats June thru August. He was dropped in my league as well. I dropped Lyon for him. Maybe he just starts slow. He worth a chance IMO but it depends who you have to drop for him.

I told you so!
ITS TWO WEEKS IN
Have you dropped Helton already too? What about RJ? Or Thome, or foulke...
Come on, the guy has talent, and will eventually be Magglio, he'll do what I said he'll do, end up with 25+HR's and bat about .305, great numbers for where you could have gotten him, be patient
ROFLMAO!!! HAHAOHOHO!!! Eventually be Magglio?!?! HAHAHAHA!!!! I've never really liked your predictions, but this takes the proverbial cake! So what if it's two weeks in? That doesn't give him an automatic bounce-back pass. You've obviously never looked at the man's minor league stats.
Rowand's minor league career:
.281 BA, (higher if you throw out one half of an off year in 2003)
compared to mags .271 and maglio spent a year longer in A with a +.300
Rowand had a higher HR/AB ratio, more rbis per game or AB, however you want to look at it, and a higher SB/Game ratio
In his first full year in the majors (last year), he had a higher batting average, higher OBP, higher number of SB's, higher slugging percentage, more HR's and more RBI's than magglio did in his first full year
It appears as if its not me that didnt look at the stats. This is second full season in the majors, I reiterate, be patient.
