With Nomar Garciaparra (torn left groin) out for at least the next two months and Todd Walker (knee) out possibly until June, Hairston will start at second base while Neifi Perez slides over to shortstop.(CBSportsline)
Thoughts? Comments? How does this affect his value?

Well... I know that it OBVIOUSLY increases his value... a better question is, "If he were to finish out the year @ 2B where would he rank?" Someone already threw out the, 'Poor Man's L.Castillo' comparison.

If he starts all year, he'd be a lot better than a poor man's Castillo I think. He'd be Castillo with a lower BA but better numbers everywhere else except maybe runs. I'd say arond .280 - 30 SB's, 10 HR's, 100+ R (depending on the batting order), 60+ RBI. Not too shabby.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."

I think that’s pushing it with his current numbers only inflated from spring training. Given, he’s on a hot streak right now – I don’t see it lasting. But then again, with the lack of power 2B options out there on the wire still, he’s a good pick up if someone needs it. And I can only see this in a 12+ man league; at best. I'd stear clear unless you are hopless at 2B.
