what to do with magglio?

Postby acapulco » Thu Apr 21, 2005 12:40 pm

Ordonez was 1 of my 4 keepers in a 10 team fp league. He's given me zero pts this year. Could be out another 4 to 6 weeks OR LONGER!!

Fortunately I'm in 3rd place even with his non-contribution. Not much on the ww except for Mench, Jacque Jones, Brady Clark....

What are other managers doing with him? What do you think I ought to do?

I think pretty much all you can do is put him on your DL and wait it out. You wont get much of anything for him in a trade, and his potential to have a good second half is too high to drop him.

There is now some debate as to whether or not he actually has a hernia. A hernia specialist could not say for sure -- and he's a specialist, so he has probably seen a few.

I'm not sure if that's good news or bad.

If it's a hernia and requires surgery, he will indeed be out 4-6 week minimum.

If it's not he could be back much sooner -- or much later.

Just to play it safe, I wouldn't do anything until there is a consensus on the diagnosis.

He was dropped in my 14 team league. But I'm packed with DLers already, I'm not sure I can take the hit. What to do, what to do.

I'm in the same boat as you. I feel ya. It would be nice to hear some definite news on him. I'm holding on to him for the time being. Good Luck!

As soon as Morneau comes back, I'm picking up Mags and stashing him hoping for the best. I'd wait it out until you hear something more definite.
