I just noticed Giambi on our FA list... he went undrafted I guess because yahoo ranked him at 500. What do you guys think he'll do this year and is he worth a pick up?

Is it an eight-team league or something? Pick him up if you have room, or make room if you don't.

I wouldn't say they're in a funk offensively, they've scored 32 runs the past 3 games since George went to town on them.
But still... it depends on who else is available, and who your worst player is. If he's been a FA all season there must be other good plaers available too.

Really? I've been completely out of the loop the past few days.

I just wouldn't want to take the chance on him personally because I'd think there would be at least something since 1B is so deep. I guess it's just your preference. I don't like to have to deal with the headaches of a player like that unless there is a lot of upside, but that's just me.

Even in an 8 team, I'd think he's worth a spot. In that lineup, he could put up monster numbers. And I'd say so far he's doing okay.

tremendous upside, and already showing signs of past power. He was undrafted in my league too, so he's mine now.

I can't see how Giambi is a viable 1b option in an 8 or 10-team league. His days of 40/100 are over. At best he would thrill me if he went 270/30/100 and that is asking for quite a bit now. That may be decent enough for a Util player in an 8 team league but not as a starting 1b.

i agree with theyanks04 - i do not think giambi should be owned in an 8 team league - definitely not starting in 8 or 10 - i am unfortunately starting him in a 12 teamer but only because we have a CI spot
