You're telling me you didn't shoot squirrels as a kid? My death toll must be up in the thousands....and they thought they could eat the apples from my apple tree.

Going to huge someday.
When I was about 10 or so we would shoot squirels out of some old ladies yard all the time. This all stoped when she called the cops on us. So then, we switched to Doves
Other than she's only 5, I see no issues with kids learning about death and guns up close like that with parental supervision.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
You can almost hear the banjos playing in the background right now!
Did you see one of those squirrels she was holding? She blew that things brains out! 5 is way too young for firearms, and killing things isn't a good way to teach children about death. Its more murder than sorrowful death. A better time to learn about death would be if a pet died, and not by shooting it Madison

Agreed. 5 is a bit young to be shooting things. I did say that already though .
As to teaching:
See honey, this is a gun.
See honey, that's a varmit.
See daddy shoot varmit, honey?
Varmit is dead. No longer alive. Not cuddly or cute anymore. Varmit went to heaven and will never return Honey.
Any questions darlin? Get daddy's knife so we can cook the varmit up.
See? Learnin'!

Do they eat squirrel?
I guess if they eat them.....or maybe if they pose a health risk....but I can't see explaining to a child killing for the sake of killing.
