I think Wainwright is right The closer gets the ball after a save so Wainwright being the closer gets it
and for those who say
NOBODY should get it.. they are joking about this.. but nobody gets that.. The ST LOUIS CARDINALS should have it.. duh.. but anyways no single player deserves a ball.. Wainwright and Molina had their moments but it was won as a team
I will respond with
That brings up the question what about a regular season game. I mean all games are a team win so does that mean that all balls go to the team???? I know I know " you can't compare postseason to regular season games" OK but I am just saying all wins are team wins and it is something baseball does to give it to the closer EVERY game they should!
Catcher Yadier Molina, who rested a sore right shoulder for six games, returned to catch all nine innings for the Cardinals on Tuesday. He threw out a runner trying to steal, had a single in two trips and raised his average to .333 this spring.
Molina also said he felt no pain in his right shoulder.
"He said he was going to play under control," manager Tony La Russa said. "So I asked him (after catching Matt Kemp's attempted steal of second base). He said, 'Oh yeah. I was under control.'"
Molina will be behind the plate again today, and he could be looking at a lengthy game in order to catch closer Jason Isringhausen.
Almost of equal significance Tuesday was that Molina drew a walk. It was the seventh of the spring for Molina, who normally doesn't get his seventh walk until midseason.
Hitting coach Hal McRae, asked if this spring's numbers meant Molina, a .238 career hitter, was showing markedly more patience, said: "I hope so. It would help add some points to his average."
