Apr 19 Tigers first baseman Dmitri Young went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI against the Orioles Monday.

Views: Young's playing out of his mind, hitting .385 with four homers and 14 RBI. Last season, he hit 18 home runs with 60 RBI, so he's well on pace to outperform those numbers.

Do they not take in to consideration that he had only 389 ABs last year due to a broken leg? Sometimes I think these people really shouldn't be giving advice, this is pathetic to ignore something like that and to call what Dmitri is doing "out of his mind" when he is clearly a solid player who is simply playing up to his potential now that he's healthy.

Well he is on pace to beat last year's numbers. ;-7

:-D

I'd say he's playing "out of his mind". Do you really think he will hit .385 for the year? I don't. ;-) Homers/Rbi are fine, but the average is a tad bit high. B-)

No I don't think he'll hit .385. But is that really "playing out of his mind"? I think he's a legit .295-.300 hitter so .385 after only a couple of weeks isn't that big of a deal IMO.
