giles by a small margin. depends on what you perceive as bay's upside.. but i like to know what i'm getting when it comes to trades

I would take Giles over Bay in a non-keeper league.

Giles by a long shot. Giles has a proven track record even if the HRs may not be where they once were. He plays in a much better lineup. And Bay is the much riskier in terms of injuries.

I would also take Giles by a small margin...simply because I am more risk adverse and I perceive Bay as a larger risk...

Giles, he has a good eye, gets quite a few walks and a good all around hitter.
Bay had one good year, but he falls in my personal category of "take the player on the better team". Granted SD is not all that great but better than Pitt. And a good team will give you more opportunities for RBI's and Runs, both important scoring categories.
