giles by a small margin. depends on what you perceive as bay's upside.. but i like to know what i'm getting when it comes to trades

Bay. I like Bay's upside much more. Giles in Petco=less than 30HR guarantee.

I would take Giles over Bay in a non-keeper league.

Giles by a long shot. Giles has a proven track record even if the HRs may not be where they once were. He plays in a much better lineup. And Bay is the much riskier in terms of injuries.

I would also take Giles by a small margin...simply because I am more risk adverse and I perceive Bay as a larger risk...

Giles, he has a good eye, gets quite a few walks and a good all around hitter.

Bay had one good year, but he falls in my personal category of "take the player on the better team". Granted SD is not all that great but better than Pitt. And a good team will give you more opportunities for RBI's and Runs, both important scoring categories.

No one seem to be taking the upside of Bay. I like Giles, but he has topped out. We arent going to see 30 HRs, 100RBIS from Giles again. I like him for more guartanteed production (23+HRs, 82+RBIS,etc) but Bay has MUCH greater upside. If Giles/Bay is your #2 OF then take Giles. If its Giles/Bay for #3 or UT take Bay because he could push you well beyond Giles expectations. I know the guy is starting slow, but hte posibilites are there.
