Way to be a professional. If he is going to fight back, throw the damn ball and try to get the out, then deal with the fan.
He did. He had to spin around anyway to throw the ball in. He just swung his arms at the fan as he was turning.
No way Sheff deserves to be punished. He kept his cool and kept the situation relatively calm when it could have gotten way out of hand. Nice job by him, as well as Boston security, and major props to the Red Sox for dealing with these troublemakers.
Anyway for the Yankees to review footage from last years ALCS and do the same thing? Since beer, trash, and God knows what else was being thrown at the Sox players.

I don't think we can have a normal discussion about the Sox (not that this is even about the actual Red Sox team) without somebody bringing up the Yankees.

True, but I'd like to see this kept more generic...like fan interactions at games. Not necessarily at a specific game, just sporting events in general. That might be too much to ask though.
There's no reason to take any action against Sheff. Let's not have this turn into another Sox/Yankees fight.

You too.
The Sox organization did something positive. Can't we leave it at that without being a poor sport about it?
