Thoughts on Cameron?

Apr 18 Mets outfielder Mike Cameron is scheduled for another doctor's visit on Monday. He has not played yet this season due to tendonitis in his left wrist. He underwent an initial cortisone shot in the joint on April 2 and a second shot on April 15. Cameron is still unable to swing a bat, Newsday reported.

Views: Cameron does not appear on track to return to the big league stage any time soon, and fantasy owners can expect Victor Diaz to continue getting the starts in right field. We'll continue to update Cameron's status, but we expect him to need a minor league assignment before he jumps back into the bigs.

How serious do you guys think this injury is? Only one DL spot on the roster, and Gagne is sitting in it right now. Is his value enough to keep him on the bench, or should I go fishing for someone else? Sorry if this is a no-brainer, I'm not very familiar with Cameron's history.

Depends who is available on the WW, but I would think he isn't valuable enough to take up a bench spot in a standard 12 team league.

Depends on the size of your league and who's available. I was pegging him for 25/25 (with a low average) before the season; that's beginning to look like a best-case of 20/20.
I'm letting him take up a spot in my 16-team league, but anything smaller I'd probably look elsewhere.

Victor Diaz is playing great as Cameron's replacement. I think the Mets will look to extend Cameron's time on the DL if they can as long as Diaz remains hotCameron won't be happy about this and wants to play. And if the Mets have any plans of trading him they need to play him to get his value up.
