PADILLA WAS DROPPED IN MY LEAGUE

Postby CUBSWIN » Mon Apr 18, 2005 11:28 am

I am in a 12 team points league, and was wondering if I should drop any of my current starters and grab Padilla off waivers.

Padilla is not that good anyways...but if you want him I guess I wouldn't mind dropping Ramirez or Pineiro for him.

Padilla is on the wire in every league I am in. Keep what you have and watch to see if Padilla is any good

The only possible drop would be Ramirez and that isn't much of an upgrade anyway. Seriously Padilla is on all but the deepest leagues WW. No need to grab him right away.

Really...I have seen him DL-stashed in most of my leagues. Why would you leave him on the wire? He may not be an elite pitcher, but he certainly could be a more than adequate fantasy 5th if he is healthy.

You should probably drop Prior for him.

In all seriousness, I see him outperforming Ramirez, Pineiro and Webb if his health holds up. He was a solid middle of the rotation guy until his elbow problems last year.

I'd drop Ramirez for him. Padilla was available on my WW yesterday and I picked him up. He's a solid pitcher on a team with a good lineup.

***QUESTION***

I'm a first timer in a Yahoo league.

I dropped a player, added Padilla, put him on the DL, then added another player today. What happens when Padilla gets activated from the DL tomorrow? Will it kick off one of my players without me choosing? Or will it leave Padilla on the DL until I decide to use him?

It will leave Padilla on the DL, but you can't make a player transaction without having enough space on your roster when he comes off the DL.
