DId Wells play yesturday?? Is it ok to start him this week? I have not heard any news excpet his ribs hurting.

I read a blurb somewhere that he had some kind of abdominal muscle issue and dumped him to pick up Ensberg when Beltre sat down last week too. I stopped reading about it at that point though!! Sorry I don't recall where I read it, quite likely rotoworld though..

You dumped Vernon Wells for Morgan Ensberg? And you already have Beltre? Oy.....

He has sore ribs and was given the day off. Nothing serious, but hopefully he starts swinging the bat better.

The Yahoo notes said that he got the day off. No injuries mentioned.

This might come back in bite me in the back side, but I am reserving him for Bobby Clark this week. He has been lighting it up while Wells has been having problems and might not be playing. What do you guys think?

Wells is in the line-up today. I would never bench him for Clark for a whole week.

Wells was a fixture on my bench and did not appear likely to get much action (on my team that is...) so, after trying to unload him in some 2 for 1 deals to make the room, I decided to junk him for now.

I would rate Wells as maybe a low 2nd or 3rd tier OF if he gets 25 HR which does not appear to be a lock just yet. Maybe if he'd steal more effectively, he'd get some additional value and I know he suggested he'd reach 30/30 but it was a very short term move w/ an 'extra' guy. I do totally agree that it could very well result in me dealing some homers and potential steals for some average but I don't mind doing that and think that it's kind of a mistake to look at guys as undumpable when they are not top quality guys (not that I think Ensberg is an A lister either but he was the best 3b available for this weekend...)

Are there any indicators that he is going to ever come close to his 2003 numbers? I am considering buying low on him, but I'll be honest and say that I'm worried he doesn't really have the talent that he displayed that year. Any Blue Jays fans want to set me straight?
