Start Wade Miller Tonight? Give me the stats to back it up!

He was struggling in the 1st inning last week before he got hit by the ball. He was brilliant the start before that. I'm leaning towards starting him.

I would start him tonight. The start last week where he was brilliant was also against Pittsburgh, and even though they now have Giles back in the lineup, they still aren't an offensive threat. Also, I believe that on Saturday, he only really gave up one legit hit, and the second one that allowed one of the runs to score was the one that went off his leg into center field, which is just bad luck. Then, the player that relieved him allowed a double, letting the second run across.

Miller is 4-2 with a 1.85 ERA career against the Pirates. He is 1-2 with a 2.35 ERA career at PNC Park. Also, Brian Giles only has a .100 career batting average against Miller.

Start him.

If you can't start Miller against the weak-hitting Pirates, who can you start him against?

I might have second thoughts about it if he was going up against San Fran, or Atlanta, or St Louis. But not Pittsburgh.

I have Miller on my squad & I'm starting him tonight.
Everything you know is wrong.

Miller was supposed to start Thursday and Oswalt Wednesday, but they moved Miller's start up a day, because he only threw 15 pitches before being whacked with the line drive on Saturday, so he didn't need four days rest. Oswalt's start just gets bumped back a day.
