What do you guys think about Lane. This will be his first full year in the Majors and do you think he will be able to continue his current power numbers throughout the rest of the season. I need another bat in my league and he is available so I am debating whether or not to drop one of my low end pitchers. Give me some advice. Thanks.

While I dont think he will continue to be a great power hitter like he has been the first two weeks I do think he will be a pretty good hitter. I would expect .290 25 80.

Unfortunately, Lane has already hit his 4 homers this season. If you look at his stats, he's hit 4 homers every year of his career (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005). I think he's done now.

Of course, I'm only kidding.

His career numbers are good: 278 at-bats, .288/.346/.561

But there's a Minute Maid Field effect:
Home: .315/.370/.631, 1.001 OPS
Away: .235/.328/.392, .720 OPS

I'd drop him for a low-end pitcher.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
