Scouts rave about the guy's bat speed and abitlity to hit. The Baseball Prospectus says "He'll soon become one of the 20 best hitters in the league." Ive seen the guy hit and he has the raw skills and ability to be a top power threat. The offseason illnesses and hit on the head are unforutanate as it has people talking about his inability to live up to expectations. I myself have him on my important team which has had me asking questions but its more from now lacking a solid 1B. I cant wait for the guy to come back, and hopefully have a dominating year.

Just remember, people were saying the same thing about Mark Teixeira at the beginning of last year too...

Morneau is a blossoming stud. He'll be fine. These are freak injuries, not problematic at all. If you can get him cheap, go for it.

Sure hope he doesn't have another concussion... This is like his 4th or 5th already, and another would make him think of retirement at a VERY early age... You can't mess with head injuries..especially so many, at such a young age...He is a super stud potentially..But still something to consider ;-D

Perhaps we'll see him sporting a John Olerud helmet in the field and clubhouse! Gotta protect that head.
