ya maybe he will get in to the games late like what happened in st. louis when edmonds came back from injury he always came out in the 6th inning....if guillen gets like 2 abs he could be worthwhile for the rest of the week for those of us (cough cough me cough cough) who started him for the whole week.
Guillen will probably be traded for some washed up has-been. That's just what Jim Bowden (Reds GM) does. He did it with Juan Encarnacion last year.
If he doesn't get traded, look for Bob Boone to screw up team chemistry again and start another rotation with Dunn, Kearns, Casey, Griffey, and Guillen playing 4 of every 5 days. He might even try to throw Branyan in the mix at some point. Then after a week or two of that, Dunn or Kearns will hit a cold streak and be benched for the next 2 weeks and really screw up our fantasy lineups.
Reds management is the biggest joke in professional sports since the Paul Brown died 12 years ago leaving Mike Brown in charge of the Bengals.... Don't count on Guillen playing everyday, especially if he ever goes 0-fer for two days in a row. He'll be on the bench or the AAA bus in a Carl Lindner heartbeat.
Of course Griffey has to start, but it won't be every day for a couple of weeks. They'll ease him back in.
The smartest thing the Reds could do is let Griffey play for three months and hope he does well, then trade him to an AL contender for pitching they so desperately need. I don't know who would take Griffey, but someone out there would be interested.
I doubt they would bench Dunn and Kearns now. Those two would have a right to be pissed about that. They're veterans now who happen to be kicking ass. Boone is not that stupid to bench them now. Guillen is a guy who expected this and is happy for the chance he had. He has nothing to be upset about sitting on the bench. So they have a super sub on the bench who's happy about it. Better than anything they could ask for.
griffey got the start tonigh but i dont he will play everyday for the next month or so. i agree with timkell that he will be traded some time down the road, i would drop guillen.
I'm pretty sure I heard on baseball tonight that Griffey is going to rotate with Guillen every other game until they are sure about Wiffey.. I MEAN Griffey.
but yes, Guillen gets the shaft in the end for Ken Wiffy Jr. Start finding a good replacement.
Just kidding I'm just pissed at him for getting injured so much.
and torqued because I constantly had Guillen as OF starter. Now i have to pickup Jenkins, or Alou or something. Which I'm sure are of equal value, but it was more exiting as Guillen was a little fresher. I thought it would be neat to have another Baldelli on my team.
