So what's everyone's take on this guy? He's done nothing since becoming a Met. Anyone think he'll turn it around this season?

I've heard rumours concerning a trade to Philly ...
Can we build it?

Alomar a Phillie?

Postby lifeform » Wed May 14, 2003 11:16 am

I haven't heard the Alomar-to-Philly rumor, but I don't see it happening.

Reason: with all the money the Phillies used to sign Thome & Bell to long-term deals (and Millwood to a one-year deal), the Phillies aren't really in position to add more salary.
Everything you know is wrong.

not so fast Rj i wouldnt be so quick to give up on him his history is too good. There has to be some reason for his bad years at shea and i think this is the yera hes going to break through his mental block and start hitting to old form. Maybe this is wishful thinking since i have him on my team but i just cant accept his preformance so far with the mets and look at his past years in the league. he still has the talent he just needs to stop thinking and play!

I'm gonna have to agree with rjforlife on this one. Robbie Alomar is done. He's hitting at the same level as his brother, which is bad enough. He's also playing fo the Mets, which also suck. I couldn't think of any team that would want him. He's cooked, fried, grilled, whatever you wanna call it.

Last week I traded for M. Giles and NOW Alomar wants to start playing. Coming from a Mets fan I feel that Alomar can become a decent player again. I watch this team quite a bit and yes they do suck but Alomar has started to show some flashes recently. Don't give up on him yet he could be heating up for a nice year.

I love what a trip to Coors will do to a fantasy player's mind. Guys don't get fooled by the numbers any Mets player puts up in Denver. They've been awful all season and now they're "showing signs of life." Now is a great time to try and deal away those guys, not go after them.

Actually he started playing well last week at shea. He had a lot of hard hit balls that went for outs. Many people in NYC feel that his instincts might finally be starting to take over.

Coors field doesn't make a difference if a guy is hitting the ball hard. A line drive up the middle is a hit in any park. Get a clue.
