sweet, sweet Smallworld.
I started fantasy baseball with that, and enjoyed it quite a bit but came to the realization that the game has very little to do with baseball knowledge, as it does with managing salary and getting the magic $85 million as fast as possible. I dont think I ever finished higher than 1400th. I played it until TSN made it a pay-to-play game. Then I discovered regular Yahoo leagues and realized I could actually win leagues regularly.
I however did love the scoring for that game. They changed it a bit from year to to year when they first started, but finally settled on a very fair scoring system. I was in a league last year that used that scoring system and I came in 3rd.

Oh yeah Randro! I remember that. basically the idea was that you would use your trades to make sure you had randy and pedro pitch every start, but because they both were expensive, you couldnt just have both of them on your team. There was one year where it was a three-headed monster with randy, pedro, and schilling.

the first fantasy game i ever played was smallworld fantasy football. that was some good stuff, always trying to get the sleepers who could bust out and then dump them to increase your overall worth. really crazy managerial game. i think that was back in 2000 when i first started. never played the baseball version though.
