Does anyone remember SmallWorld?

It was a points league with salary cap and I really liked the scoring because it was the fairest one I have ever seen. That was the first time I played fantasy baseball (back in 1999). I abandoned the fantasy scene after that but started playing in yahoo leagues again in 2003. Ever since I've been thinking about creating a yahoo league with that type of scoring, but I can't remember all of the details. Does anyone remembers?

I remember. The players' worth went up or down depending on how many people owned them!

I played also.

It was similar to a stock market. The players cost was determined by the number of adds/drops he had.

The problem was that the cost changes were not in real time. All you had to do was pick up whomever had a huge game (at today's cost), and the next morning your player was worth much more. Now sell him and increase your teams available spending.

Persistence was all it took to get into the top 1 percentile.

I believe that The Sporting News purchased Smallworld and are now using the same asspects of it at TSN. Smallworld was also my first go at fantasy baseball and I didnt mind it that much. You really needed to pay attention because a players cost went up and down depending on how many managers added and dropped that player. The one thing I didnt like is that every team in the league could have 4 or 5 of the same player on their team.

Never played it... Sandbox was my first. Them and their associate, Wall Street Sports (which was a sports stock market).

(WSS used to be a fantasy market, though, not real. Apparently it's real $$$, now.)

Hey Thanks! I went to the site and yes, apparently sporting news took over Smallworld. I keept on looking and found the Scoring I praise so much. I'm gonna save it to start a league next year. Here's the scoring. You tell me if it's not fair for a points league.
