Thome / Boone ?!

Postby OptimusPrime » Sun Apr 17, 2005 5:52 pm

What is the deal with Jim Thome and Aaron Boone?!

I can see why Boone has been struggling since he did not play at all in 2004, but Thome still hasn't hit a HR yet!!

UGH!!! <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>

Am I worrying too soon!?

Thome always does this. You'll go through a 10 day period where he does not have one dinger, and then BAAM......8 homers in 7 days.

Yeah, I'm sure I'm just whining a little too early, but seriously, he killed my points this week! Oh, well.... :)

Thome never starts off well. In fact, when they talk about slow starters, Thome is usually the first guy mentioned. Don't worry about it!! Just think when May comes around, you're going to have someone who will hit about .290 and 45 HR's from that point on (I hope!!)
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

Dont worry, as mentioned Thome is a slow starter. Give him a couple of days and he'll find his groove. You just gotta be patient with him. The gonzo's will start coming to you ;-D

Thome starts off slowly on odd number years and quickly on even number years though I'm sure thats just small sample size at work. Last year he hit like 350 wiht 7 HR in april, the year before he had like 4 HR, the year before 7 and the year before that 3 etc.
