Vernon Wells?

Postby beltrans_boy » Sun Apr 17, 2005 2:13 pm

He's sitting today. I'm assuming it's to rest his ribcage injury, or is it just to give his ice cold bat a little time to think. Does anybody know if he'll be sitting frequently? Is a trip to the DL in his future? How serious is the injury?

From everything I've seen I don't think a trip to the DL is likely. Sitting more often though sounds like a good possibility. I've already made the decision to grab a FA and bench Wells until he's producing again. The injury isn't stopping him from playing but it's obviously stopping him from playing well.

Gotta love having 2/3 of your OF down (I have Crawford, Maggs and Wells as the OF on one of my teams :().

Yes, also benching him playing Sweeney in his place. He is killing me - as with everyone else in the world, waiting for him to break out like he did on 2003. I'm gonna give him a month.......

I live in Toronto, and I've heard he has a rib injury.
Don't be surprized if he lands on the DL but only for a short period, he's tough as nails.
I suggest you bench wells now regardless, he looks clueless at the plate. He'll break out of this slump, but until then keep him on the bench.

Looks like Wells is starting to show signs of breaking out of the slump, hes been hitting pretty decent the last 4 games.

I benched Wells this week, but it looks like he's starting to break out of his slump.
