On Mondays Wednesdays and Firdays, it is Matt Herges, at home on Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays it is Jaret Wright. On Sundays at home it is Jesse Orosco.

Brandon Villafuerte and Jay Witasik are possibilities, but Hoffman may be back at the end of July.

So ask yourself...is it really worth it to worry about the Padres bullpen and pick up a guy who will only fail in the long run, and maybe get you 3 saves a month while killing your ERA and WHIP?

...and I am a recovering San Diego closer owner.

I had Villafuerte for the few several weeks of the season, and then played the guessing game for a while after Villafuerte lost the job.

It's not worth it. You're better going without a closer. If you're really desperate, you might take a chance on John Rocker taking the job from Lance Carter in Tampa Bay.
