For a spot in the playoffs? Even if the Cubs win, they'll find a way to screw up once they are in the playoffs, so I'll take the cash. If its about the Cubs winning the world series, thats different.
this is really tough, but as a poor college student, id take the money. if last year hadnt happened i would take the sox in the playoffs... but sinse it did... i think the cash would be cool.
It'd depend on your financial circumstances and how much the money means to you. That said it'd probably take thousands of dollars for a lower middle class person to root against their team, assuming they're true fans.
Yall are going to yell, BUT -- fantasy baseball, football, basketball give me the cash, I can gloat to all my friends all year, plus the money is always good
BUT, fantasy hockey....... there is nothing like going to a stanley cup finals game (if it ever happens agains, bastards, this used to be my favorite time of the year, I drool from feburary on) -- Id want the stars to win over it. IVE PAID more than that for a ticket to a finals game. I love baseball, and baseball playoffs are fun...but nothing like hockey. Sigh :(
I waffled back and forth on this one for a while... I guess it depends
on how the other teams are looking... If the Giants are 100% healthy and other teams are kinda limping into the playoffs I'll take the Giants, but if the Giants are up against some monster teams to even get to the series I take the cash... this all becomes a moot point if they coulda closed it out in 2002 though, cause if that was the case I take the grand every time, and comfort myself until ST starts!
Its easy now at the start of the season, you should ask this question again on Oct. 1st or so and see how people answer
