I figured Yankee fans would be more upset about this then I am. But I guess if its falling apart, tear it down. They obviously didn't build it as solid as Wrigley or Fenway then.

Believe me...I love that stadium.
But, at this point, I'm just glad they're not going to have the new one in the middle of Manhattan, or New Jeresey or something.
Yankee Stadium is not the nicest place to watch a game (Oriole Park is - and I've been to 23 MLB parks) but it IS the place with the most history and the best "feel'. Forget Fenway, Wrigley is close but Yankee Stadium is baseball. George should be ashamed of himself

As for the luxury boxes over regular seats, that really sucks.
It would be awesome if they leave it up and do somethin' cool like make a museum out of it. I'd have alot less trouble dealing with that than if they were to just tear it down. That place is historic.
It would be pretty neat if they did leave it standing, but what are the odds of that? I'm not familar with the area, but I would think that if they did that the parking, traffic flow, etc would be awful.
The beginning of the end for real baseball in NY. Corporate sellout to Wall Street a**holes. Outside of the horrendous traffic in the area, there is NOTHING wrong wih the current Stadium.
As a side note, the ticket prices at Yankee Stadium are so high now that an avg family of 4 can probably only afford upper deck reserve seats. Field Boxs are going for 75 a pop. Championship boxes are $95 a pop. New Stadium catering to fat cats and Wall street season ticket holders will only make it worse. Same garbage that is going on with the new Jets stadium which is just a real estate scam for Bloomberg and his cronies. Like people will go to midtown Manhattan by car to see a football game...right?
